“Life is a party. Dress for it.”
Friends sometimes joke, at my expense by posing the question, why I’m never seen outside looking less than perfect. My choice of clothing always matches the mood, my accessories never compete and my footwear impress all who gaze upon them. “Especially those made by French Sole!” I add with a twinkle of the eye and a smile on my face before finishing with a quote from one of the great filmic icons, Audrey Hepburn, who once famously said “Life is a party. Dress for it.”
Audrey was famous for rarely being seen in anything but ballet flats. It suited her gamine style. Though I’ve borrowed from her in some regard, I choose to add a little more colour to my appearance. Pink I always find to be the perfect choice, particularly in the spring and this year, navy blue is all the rage I’m told. Imagine my surprise them when early one morning, standing outside French Sole in London, croissant in one hand, takeaway coffee in the other, I spied through the window, over the rim of my large dark sunglasses, the new Lola range of ballet flats.
