Be my Valentine!
We all have different ideas for the perfect Valentine’s Day; There are the romantic couples among us who may dream of a dinner on a Thames river cruise, while others perhaps prefer to be whisked away for a weekend in Paris. And then there are those, singletons like myself, who spend the day celebrating their love for shoes. Yes, shoe shopping is my one true love. It comes as naturally to me as a warm embrace and I have a gift for always spotting the perfect footwear from across a crowded street.
Such a bolt from the blue struck me down when I spotted the new Margot style from French Sole. Miraculously, they have combined my two great passions into one; My love for beautiful ballet flats and ballet itself. Their new Margot style, in the most delicious shade of tan, being adorned with ribbons that lace-up at the ankle and makes me feel like a real ballerina. How fitting for me to wear shoes that share the name with the great Prima Ballerina Margot Fontaine! All I need now is an outfit worthy of my new love, the love in the form of French Sole footwear, that is.
Thankfully, Valentine’s Day is such a perfect excuse for splurging a little bit more than usual. Brown and tan are, without doubt, the colours of the season for shoes and bags. Margot flats paired with a brown trimmed wicker tote and floral print cotton dress make for the perfect combination, suitable for many occasions, not just Valentine’s Day. First up, I Sissonne with excitement to take my new shoes to see Swan Lake next month and then who knows, perhaps another dress. After all, you can wear the same pair of French Sole shoes to different events but sincerely, yours truly can never be seen twice in the same outfit.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
