Another Italian Adventure

A trip to Rome earlier this year left me yearning for another Italian adventure. Having just received my brand new Henrietta flats, made of sumptuous nude woven leather, I decided my trip should be somewhere more rustic and in tune with nature. The north would be too crowded in late summer so my toes turned towards the South, could sun-drenched Sicily be the solution?
My knowledge of Sicily had been garnered largely by what Hollywood had shown me. Doing my research, however, I was enraptured in reading about the island’s endless groves of oranges and lemons. Not before long, I was adrift in thought, imagining myself wearing a white-cotton off-the-shoulder midi dress in the late afternoon light, the smell of citrus fruit filling the air while I wandered in my French Sole Henrietta flats. Eureka! To quote the exclamation of a certain famous Sicilian, I think we have a plan!
Palermo was my starting point, the city that has been given the title of Italian Capital of Culture for 2018. Culture isn’t the reason I came however, it is to walk through orange groves as though I was in a Botticelli painting, to enjoy the last days of summer close to nature and to return, revived, recharged and ready for what the autumn may bring. So a short taxi ride away and I’m here, writing this now and raising a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice to you and saying chin chin my friends!
I’m very curious how other French Sole fans are styling their French Sole Henrietta ballet flats in nude woven leather. Do mention #frenchsoleblogbyamelie on your Instagram and I’ll be reposting the most creative looks on our FS page.
With love,
